Terms of Service

Effective 6 September 2026. These terms apply to the Degen Rehab desktop application, the degen-rehab.com website, and the community features inside the app (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Degen Rehab from Manitoba, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Degen Rehab is

Degen Rehab is a trading-discipline tool. You set your own rules (loss limits, profit targets, trade caps, trading hours, cooldowns, lockouts, and similar), and the app helps you keep them by blocking, pausing, or closing your own trading activity according to those rules, by running a pre-session ritual, by keeping a journal, and by putting you in a small group of traders (a "cohort") for accountability.

Degen Rehab is not a broker, an investment adviser, a signal service, or a trading system. It never opens a trade for you, never recommends a trade, never tells you what to buy or sell, and never holds your money. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. One person per account. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think your account has been used without your permission.

3. Membership, trials, and billing

  • Free trial. New members get a 14-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it. When the trial ends the membership converts to a paid monthly subscription at the price shown at checkout, and your payment method is charged automatically.
  • Monthly renewal. Paid memberships renew every month until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Cancel any time. Cancel from the Membership section in the app (which opens the Stripe billing portal). Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • No refunds. The trial exists so you can decide before you pay. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already charged are not refundable, including for partly used months.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. While it is unpaid the app shows a membership-lapsed screen and the tools are unavailable.

4. What the app does on your computer and with your trading platform

The whole point of the Service is that it acts on your behalf to enforce rules you set. By turning a rule on, you instruct the app to enforce it. Depending on your settings and what you have connected, the app may:

  • close your trading platform, or block it from opening, while a lock or cooldown is active;
  • block trading websites on your computer while a lock is active, by editing your computer's hosts file through a small helper that runs with administrator rights and keeps locks in place even when the app is closed;
  • black out your screen while a trade is open, if you turned the blackout screen on;
  • through a platform connection you authorise (Tradovate or NinjaTrader), read your executions, positions, and profit and loss for the accounts you map, and close open positions, cancel resting orders, and place or restore a protective stop, but only to enforce a rule you set. The app never opens a trade, never changes your platform login, and never sees your platform password.

These actions can and will affect live positions and real money. A rule that closes your trade at a loss limit closes it at whatever price the market gives at that moment. You are solely responsible for the rules you set, for the accounts you connect, and for every trading result. Uninstalling the app removes the helper, the hosts-file entries, and the login item.

5. Trading risk and no guarantees

Trading futures, and leveraged products in general, carries a high risk of loss. A discipline tool reduces some behaviours; it does not make trading profitable, and it cannot prevent every loss. Enforcement depends on things outside our control: your internet connection, your platform's servers and API, exchange behaviour, your computer staying on, and your own settings. Locks and protective stops can fail, lag, or be bypassed. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will stop you from breaking your rules.

6. Your data and your platform connection

How we handle your information is set out in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. When you connect a trading platform you are also bound by that platform's own terms. Platform data is used only to run your rules, your trade counts, and your journal. We do not redistribute market data or platform content to anyone.

7. Community rules

Cohort chat, global chat, and direct messages exist so traders can hold each other accountable. Keep it that way. Do not harass, threaten, or abuse anyone; do not post other people's private information; do not spam, advertise, or recruit; do not post trade signals or solicit money; do not post anything illegal. Your cohort sees your display name, your discipline streak, and whether you followed your plan. They never see your profit and loss. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without refund.

8. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to circumvent the enforcement tools in ways that would affect other members, probe or attack our systems, scrape the Service, share your account, resell access, reverse-engineer the platform connection, or use the Service for anything unlawful. Defeating a lock on your own machine only hurts you, and the app records it as a broken streak; it is not a violation of these terms.

9. Ending your membership and deleting your data

You can cancel at any time (section 3). When your membership ends, whether you cancelled, a trial ran out, a payment failed, or an access code expired, we keep your account and data for 30 days so you can come back with everything intact. After 30 days the account and all of its data are deleted automatically. You can ask us to delete it sooner by emailing tyler@degen-rehab.com from your account email.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we shut the Service down. If we shut the Service down we will give reasonable notice by email.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including the application, the website, the guided audio recordings, the written materials, and all associated software, designs, text, graphics, trademarks, and logos (including the Degen Rehab name and mark), is owned by Degen Rehab or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these terms, Degen Rehab grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the application on devices you control for your own non-commercial use for the duration of your active membership. No other rights are granted, whether by implication or otherwise. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by law.

You retain all rights in the content you create within the Service, including journal entries, setup descriptions, screenshots, and messages ("User Content"). By submitting User Content you grant Degen Rehab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you and, where you have chosen to share it, to other members. This licence ends when your User Content is deleted from the Service, subject to the retention period described in section 9.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Degen Rehab and its owner are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, missed opportunities, data loss, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the Service, from a rule the app enforced or failed to enforce, from a platform connection, or from these terms, however caused. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Some places do not allow some of these limits; in that case they apply as far as the law permits.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. For material changes we will email you or show a notice in the app before they take effect. Using the Service after that is acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of Manitoba, unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you rights that cannot be taken away, in which case those rights apply. Questions about these terms: tyler@degen-rehab.com.
